Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Disorders
Relieve jaw pain and move freely again.
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) connects the lower jaw to the skull in front of the ear and controls opening the mouth, chewing and speaking. Its disorders can cause pain in the jaw, ear or head, clicking when opening the mouth, limited opening, or tired chewing muscles.
Common causes include teeth grinding and clenching, stress, bite problems and injuries. Treatment starts with an accurate diagnosis by examination and X-rays, followed by a plan that goes from conservative care to surgery when needed, under our consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
